It would be very frustrating, after all that time, money and effort spent, to have your facelift not be successful.

Can you go back to the doctor who performed the surgery, and ask again, what your options might be?  Was the doctor who did the Botox a board certified dermatologist.  Do you have a primary care or other doctors who might know a different plastic surgeon, very experienced, for a second opinion.  You see where I’m going with this.

It would be very rare for the drooping under the jaw to be a salivary gland, since they are quite small.  Botox/Dysport CAN help platysmal bands which is what the injection was for.  Botox/Dysport takes 5-10 days to take effect, so it’s not making sense to me that you were told several months.

You bring up several key points that I think others would benefit from:

1. Complications of plastic surgery or even noninvasive procedures occur!  This can happen even if the surgeon/doctor is very well qualified and experienced.  Most good doctors stand by their work and can fix problems, if they occur.  Or they know other doctors who can help.
2. Wound healing is a complicated process and sometimes, after a surgery or laser, it can  take 6-12 months for scar tissue to fully mature and evolve.
3. A long term perspective is helpful.  Most problems like the one you described above can be fixed or improved.  It’s very understandable to be frustrated or impatient though.  Try to keep the long term result in mind though, and take your time in evaluating your options.  Rushing may not be in your best interest.
